Q: What are the eligibility criteria of all courses?
A: 1. Bachelor Degree / Diploma Programme: Class 10+2 (Any stream) from any recognized board; appearing students can also apply.
2. Post Graduation in HM / MBA-HM Programme: Graduation (Any stream) from any recognized board/University; final year appearing students can also apply.
3. AH&LA Programme: Class 10th (Any Stream) from any recognized board; appearing students can also apply.

Q: What is the average class size? What about the student-to-faculty ratio?
A: The average class size is 30. All of our classes are taught by professors. We do not have teaching assistants or graduate student instructors on campus. Our student-to-faculty ratio is 10:1.

Q: How large is the College?
A: There are 450 students from all states of India. The campus includes the Cafe/ Restaurant, Basic Training Kitchen, Advanced Training Kitchen, Bakery and Confectionery, Front Office Lab, Accommodation Operation / House Keeping Lab, Computer Lab, Library, Lecture Halls, Corporate Convention Centre, Audio Visual Lab, Hostel Facilities, Transportation Service, Recreation Facilities and Playground, Environmental Friendly Campus, Extra Curricular Activities as well as athletic facilities, and academic/administrative buildings.

Q: Is Dr. MPS Group UGC recognized?
A: Yes, Dr. MPS Group is recognized by UGC.

Q: To obtain admission in your College, do I need to go through an entrance examination?
A: Yes, The admission to various programmes is purely based on Entrance Examination & Group Discussion.

Q: Is there Convocation at the end of the course?
A: Our affiliated University holds convocation once in a year. The dates for the convocation are decided by the University. Selected students, based on their merit position in the examination will be invited to attend the convocation.

Q: In case, I join program of your college, is there any other payment other than the stipulated Course and Examination fees that I need to make?
A: No. For each program/course, the fees that are required to be paid will be stipulated on the time of admission. All payments are to be made in favour of the Dr. MPS Memorial College of Hotel Management, Delhi/Agra Only. However, additional payments (if any) to be made will be intimated through circulars from time to time.

Q: When are the Admissions?
A: The admissions are held 2 times in a year. Every year, the Summer Session in March, the and the winter session in September. Prospectus and applications can be obtained from the College or Download application from our Website: NOTE: Admission will be granted only to those candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria.

Q: What is the procedure for admission of students who have not received the result of eligibility qualification?
A: Provisional admission will automatically stand cancelled and the student will cease to be on rolls in case these documents are not submitted by due date. Such students will not be permitted to appear for the university examinations. No communication will be provided in this regard. Fee paid is not refundable.

Q: What are the documents to be enclosed as eligibility proof along with admission application form?
A: Applicant is advised to read the instructions carefully before filling up the application form. All the supporting documents (as specified in the Prospectus/ application form) should be enclosed along with the application form and should be attested by a Gazetted Officer or Notary Public or by the Head of the Institution last attended.
10th Board Marksheet & Certificate (towards proof of age)

Q: What are some of the reasons that may lead to rejection of an application?
A: Applications shall be rejected without assigning any reasons for the following reasons.
Incomplete application form
Non-enclosure of proof of eligibility qualifications
Non-enclosure of Demand Draft or in case it is an outstation Demand Draft or Cheque/ Cash
Documents enclosed are not attested by Gazetted Officer or Notary Public or Head of Institution last attended

Q: Can there be a refund of fees after admission or if a student withdraws from the course?
A: Fee once paid is not refundable under any circumstances.

Q: Is there any provision to pursue more than one course at a time?
A: There is no provision for doing more than one course of Same University at the same time.

Q: What is Lateral Entry?
A: In the Lateral Entry scheme, those students, they have already done one /two year Diploma in Hotel Management/Hospitality Management from Govt. Recognised Institute / college / Polytechnic / University / State Board / Foreign Institution Can Join directly in 2nd Year/ 3rd Semester in BScHMCTT.

Q: What is Re-registration?
A: A student doing a course has to register for each semester to become eligible to appear for the University examinations. The terms ‘Fresh Registration’ and ‘Re-registration’ are explained below: -
Fresh Admission or Registration - New candidates seeking admission are required to fill up Fresh Admission or Registration form. Re-registration - existing students who get promoted to higher semesters have to Re-register at the beginning of a session and it is termed as Re-registration.
Re-registration to the higher semester is mandatory to become eligible to appear for the University examination for existing students.

Q: Can a student register for two Semesters simultaneously?
A: Re-registration to two semesters simultaneously is not permitted.

Q: What is Re-appear Examinations?
A: If a student fails to clear any of the paper (s) or all subjects of a semester, he/ she has to re-appear for the relevant paper (s) or semester by applying and filling up the re-appear form along with relevant examination fee. The form will be made available at least two months before the university examinations along with necessary instructions.

Q: What is Re-admission?
A: If a student can not complete his/ her course within the maximum period stipulated or has discontinued his course without registering for one or more semesters with/ without fee arrears (for earlier semesters), he/ she is required to apply for semester-wise Re-admission for each session.
Q: What are the rules regarding change of course?
A: Change of course is normally not permitted

Q: How long does it take to issue the certificate after submitting the application/formalities?
A: It may take a minimum 6 months to issue the degree/diploma certificate after the receipt of the application from the student. The application form has to be complete in all respects. Incomplete applications are liable to be rejected without assigning reasons.

Q: What is the procedure to be followed in case of loss of Examination-related documents like Admit Card, Identity Card etc?
A: No student is permitted to enter the Examination Hall without the Admit Card and Identity Card. In case loss of Admit Card, students have to collect a duplicate admit card immediately from the college. If the Identity Card is lost, students can seek permission to write the examination with a valid photo identity proof e.g. Passport/Driving License/Voter ID Card/PAN Card. However, immediately after the examinations, students should apply and obtain a new ID card by submitting the appropriate application to the College.

Q: What are the consequences of appearing in the Examinations without the Admit Card?
A: Students are not permitted to appear in the Examinations without the valid Admit Card. If it is found that any student has appeared in the examinations without the Admit Card, the result will be treated as NULL and VOID. A case will also be registered against the student for Malpractices for suitable action.

Q: What are the consequences of making a mistake in the Answer Sheet (e.g. Roll No. or Subject Code wrongly written)?
A: Students have to strictly adhere to the guidelines provided in the Question Papers/Answer Sheets. However, the students may forward a written representation about such mistakes committed giving full details. University at its discretion may accept or reject such requests.

Q: When will the results be declared?
A: Results will be declared within 8 weeks (Estimated Time) from the last day of the Examinations.

Q: What are Learning Centres?
A: The Learning Centres are authorised to provide counselling and tutoring services to students. The Learning Centres have been equipped with infrastructure and facilities as stipulated by the University, to effectively support the learning process.
